  • 2 Steps

Program Details

This course aims to provide attendees with a deep understanding of the IBR model development, Hydrogen and Datacenter modelling, grid interconnection process, Sub Synchronous Oscillation (SSO) phenomenon in conventional generators and Inverter-Based Resource (IBR) facilities. The course is open to individuals with varying levels of experience, from beginners to those with intermediate and advanced experience with PSCAD. Key topics include: 1. Inverter Based Resources (IBR) models development Inverters controllers Inner-loop and Outer-loop controllers The role of Phase Locked Loop (PLL) Controller tunings fundamentals Inverters harmonics and filtering Considerations for EMT analysis and Phasor domain analysis 2. Introduction to IBR Facilities Interconnection to the Grid Plant aggregation model development Inverter controllers Role of Power Plant Controller (PPC) Voltage and frequency ride-through 3.IBR interconnection processes and planning recommendations Overall interconnection processes AC and DC load flow studies Technical considerations during planning stages that can affect the plant performance Location of the unit SSO (SSR, SSCI, SSFR) issues Harmonics issue
